Bathroom clogs are one of the messiest plumbing problems that you will ever encounter. It is understandable that you would not want to work on it yourself, but if you are compelled to do some DIY, here are some tips that can help you.
- Gather the things you need: plunger, hook, plumber’s snake (electric eel or toilet jack), and clog removal chemicals. To start, pour some boiling water down the bathroom or shower drain. Let the water work its way through the clog. Then use the plunger to push and pull out the clog out of the pipe.
- If the clog does not loosen up, pour some clog removing chemicals. If you do not have one, you can use vinegar and baking soda (baking soda goes in first before the vinegar). Use the plunger again. If it does not work, it is time to get your hands dirty.
- Remove the drain cover. If your hands can fit in the drain, use your hands to pull out the clog. If you cannot reach the clog, use a hook or the plumber’s snake. Most clogs will be loose enough to remove if you followed the process step by step.
If the clog is too hard to remove or you do not have a plumber’s snake or other tools you can use, it’s time you give us a call and let one of our certified technicians help you with your clogged drain problem.
The main difference between kitchen and bathroom clogs is that kitchen clogs can mean a plethora of things: hair, grease, oil, fat, and foodstuff. The good thing is that you can remove the clog by following the same steps on how to remove bathroom clogs with one additional step: drain the sink trap.
On the other hand, if the clog is not in the trap and is situated before or after it, it is usual that you will need to use powerful clog removal chemicals to get rid of it. And if that does not work, then you know who to call.
Sewer Line Clogs
In the case of sewer line clogs, you will need us to get rid of it. It is a messy and time consuming job and in many cases not a good idea to do it yourself. How will you know if your sewer line is clogged anyway?
First of all, if two or more of your drains are gurgling whenever water or liquid gets drained, it is highly likely that your sewer line is clogged. If left by itself, every drainage can end up getting blocked, and the possibility of water backing up out of it will be much higher.
A few of the most common causes of sewer line clogging are debris, tree roots, and broken pipes. If you want to prevent experiencing this plumbing problem, it is best that you strictly do not let anything solid, such as chicken bones, tissues, and sanitary napkins, get in your drainage. Also, getting familiar on where your pipes are will help you know where a tree might cause damage.
Hydro Jetting & Pressure Cleaning
Aside from having expert and reliable technicians, we also take advantage of best practices and modern clog removing techniques. Two of those are pressure cleaning and hydro jetting. Instead of just using plumber’s snakes, cable machines, and commercial grade clog removal chemicals, we use high pressure water jets to eliminate clogs.
Hydro jetting or water pressure cleaning allows us to easily break up debris and sludge, cut out scales, emulsify and penetrate grease and effectively flush your plumbing system.
Also, other than removing clogs, we offer our pressure cleaning and hydro jetting services to get residential pipes well maintained. If you want to totally prevent blockage or clogs in your pipes, then we highly suggest that you use this service.
